Protect Your Outdoor Property From Tricks This Halloween
It’s hard to believe that it’s already October. With the arrival of this month, we know that there will be plenty of spooky celebrations and activities happening. It is no fun to think of something happening to your property, but with this Halloween, it is very possible due to all of the children out and about. We want to share some helpful tips to make sure your property and irrigation system do not get damaged:
Be Mindful of Decor
Over the past few years, decorating for Halloween has become a bigger deal. Being one of the most popular holidays of the year, it is not surprising. Whether you have minimal decorations or go all out to celebrate, it is important that you have your decorations properly placed in your yard. If you have inflatables, be sure that they are staked properly so they do not blow away. It is important to note that if you leave inflatables in the same location all month long, your lawn will not receive adequate air and sunlight. Be sure that you do not stake or place your decorations over sprinkler heads.
Keep Walkways Clear
If you have trick-or-treaters coming to your home, it is important to give them a clear path to walk. Be sure there are no cars, toys, or debris on your property where people may be walking. You want to be sure that everyone is safe and will not trip. It will also help keep your items from becoming damaged.
Indicate Sprinkler Heads
Even if you have clear walkways and hope for any trick-or-treaters to walk on a sidewalk or driveway, it is always possible that someone may walk over your lawn. We recommend using small flags to indicate your sprinkler heads. We know that children and teens can get a little overzealous and excited while out and about.
