Prepare Your Irrigation System For Spring
We only have a few more weeks left before we can say goodbye to another winter and hello to spring. When the warmer weather arrives for good, it is time to bring your irrigation system out of hibernation and get it ready to be used this spring and summer. Even if your irrigation system was not used or was used infrequently during the winter months, it is important to fully inspect the system for signs of damage. Failure to find damage at the beginning of the season can lead to water loss and added expenses in the future. Before you do anything with your irrigation system, it is important to be sure there is no longer a chance of freezing temperatures.
Inspect Your Main System
It is important to check the main system to be sure it is still getting power and working properly. Your watering times may need to change from when you used it last, so check to be sure you can change those times as well. With water restrictions, you may need to change your watering times over the spring and summer. It is also important that you change any timers you may need to adjust after daylight saving time ends.
Check Sprinkler Heads
This is the area of your irrigation system that can be easily damaged. Be sure to make sure the sprinkler heads aren’t clogged. If they remain clogged, certain areas on your property will get too much water, while other areas will get nothing. We can help you unclog, repair, and replace damaged sprinkler heads.
Inspect Regularly
Once you start using your irrigation system regularly, be sure to check frequently to make sure you don’t have standing water and to make sure it doesn’t look like some areas of your yard are not getting enough water.
